What does the USSSA background check look for? ›

All adults participating in a USSSA youth program/sport who have contact with minor athletes are required to undergo a criminal background check that searches both the National Criminal Database and the National Sex Offender Registry, among other sources. These searches are due in part to insurance requirements.

The All American Program, just like standard USSSA Baseball competition, uses an “Age Based” platform with a May 1st age cut-off date. Whatever age the player is on May 1st, is the player's legal Playing Age for the current season.

Manufacturers can make bats to meet the 220 lb compression standard but they can no longer have the USSSA Stamp. Beginning with 2021 models USSSA is using the new 240 lb compression standard with the NTS stamp (Left). Moving forward 240 lb Bats are all that can be approved to have a USSSA Stamp on them.

Metal cleats are allowed by position players in 13U & 14U divisions. However, no metal cleats are allowed on any portable pitching mounds. Molded cleats or shoes suitable for play on gym surfaces are required. Bats: We will follow the USSSA Rule Change For 13U & 14U.

Age 27-29 are Peak Production Years for Hitters

Turning from the beginning of a pro baseball career to the heart of it, MLB has an aging curve where peak physical skills and ability intersect between age 27 and age 29. The rapid decline for pitchers and hitters begins at age 30.

14u (Ages 13-14)

According to USSSA guidelines, all 13U players must swing a bat no lighter than a drop 8 bat drop, and all 14U players must swing a bat no lighter than a drop 5 bat drop. While restrictions are in place to limit which bats players can swing, there remain several options for USSSA players to choose from.

Bat rolling is illegal in most sanctioned baseball, softball, and fastpitch associations. The sanctions rely on a testing facility to test each bat for allowable limits. The technicians test these bats by performing bat rolling.

Generally speaking, a broken in shaved bat will test lower than a very well broken in stock bat, but again........ there are exceptions. So the moral of the story is lower the compression score does not always translate into a hotter bat.

What is the orange bag rule in USSSA? ›

The batter-runner must go the orange base except in the situations described below. 3. A wild throw pulls the fielder into foul territory past first base before the runner touches first base. (Fielder can use orange bag to avoid collision) The fielder must use the white base, except in the situations described above.

10 & under base stealing is allowed under the following rules. 4. A 5 run limit per inning shall be imposed on any inning that begins less than 60-minutes from the start of the game. All subsequent innings shall have no run limit.
